Most content types have some Body text, which you can edit. There are two ways to edit this text:
the 'Edit as text' link lets you enter and edit using a text editor:
click on 'Edit as text'
in the Editor, delete the 'Edit text here', and type in some new text. Text Editor functionality allows you to format the text e.g. bullet points, emboldened headings. You can also, if you want, copy and paste from another application such as Notepad. If you paste in from Word, you may add HTML formatting that will cause problems (see below).
once you are finished, click on Save
the 'Upload a file' link lets you load a file into the system; this file will replace the existing text, if any. So be careful when you use that option. The file can be in HTML format, plain text, XML, PDF, etc. In these cases, the system will automatically translate the file into HTML, which you can re-edit later.

It is best practice to use the Text Editor, rather than uploading a file. When you use the text editor:
if you cut and paste information from Word, you will bring in formatting tags that may overwrite the formatting in the stylesheets and affect the presentation. It is recommended that you paste any text into Notepad first before pasting into the text editor, or that you type directly into the editor. The editor will also allow you to add tables, please refer to guidance from your web team to ensure that your tables display correctly.
the text editor will also let you add images into your body text. Please refer to local guidance as to how your website handles these images and any restrictions on size etc. If you add images within the text, you must also make sure you add an alt-tag to ensure that any users with a disability are aware of the contents of your image.
